EXCLUDERE: I Didn't Divorce Our Children

Ulrika Ekenberg | English, 2025

Anna and Peter’s marriage becomes increasingly complicated, and she wants a divorce. Peter threatens that she will have to live without the children if she goes through with the divorce. She doesn’t believe him and thinks it isn’t possible, but she soon learns how wrong she is. “You no longer exist to us,” Peter says.

The authorities are at a loss because both children are over twelve. The manipulation continues, and Anna is involuntarily separated from them despite not having lost custody. It is as though an iron curtain has fallen; she cannot reach the children.

The book is based in part on real events. Out of respect for everyone involved, most names, places and identifying details have been changed.
